We started our home based business in 1992 because we love all things crafty. Paul has been a beekeeper since 1987 and has been interested in bee keeping since he was a boy helping his grandfather with his bees.
After keeping bees for a couple of years we had a small supply of wonderfully fragrant beeswax and began making candles for ourselves. friends and family.
While at a bee keeping conference in 1991 we attended a class on working with beeswax where we were introduced to the handrolled beeswax candles made from beeswax sheets. They were unique, absolutely beautiful and did not require melting the wax.
We started making handrolled beeswax candles for ourselves and then as other people who saw the candles thought they were as lovely and unique as we did we began selling them locally. We have grown from there to where we are today.
We both love all sorts of handmade crafts and have been adding various handcrafted items over the years.
Paul makes baskets out of natural materials (grapevine, twigs and honeysuckle) and does wood working.
Dorothy paints in acrylics and watercolor in a variety of styles on just about anything that doesn't move, sews, crochets, quilts, does paper mache and stained glass mosaics.
In the 15 years that we have been in business we have made numerous candles and helped people with their special order needs. We have been especially pleased by our retail and wholesale customers kind words. We have donated our candles to different charities to help raise funds for their causes and will continue to be a caring concern for the community.
While not an international company we have had orders that put our candles in Japan and China. This business of ours has been an adventure, a pleasure and a very satisfying endeavor. We look forward to making candles and art for all our present and future customers.
